Spatial Workshop 1

The first location, the E Wing hallway, represents a typical academic interior space. Its long linear layout and bright reflective surfaces create a strong sense of order and direction, evoking the disciplined rhythm of campus life. The clean design, accented by orange pillars and blue signage, reinforces both functionality and visual identity, guiding movement and emphasizing the institutional character of Sheridan’s learning environment.
Project Video Link
The second location, the concrete stairwell, contrasts sharply with the hallway’s openness. Its rough material, narrow structure, and dim lighting produce an almost fortress-like or dungeon-like feeling, evoking tension and isolation. This transitional vertical space strips away ornamentation to reveal pure function, reflecting the raw honesty of industrial modernism while creating an atmosphere that feels both constrained and introspective.

The third location, the outdoor seating area, shifts the experience into a more casual and organic setting. Surrounded by greenery, fallen leaves, and colorful wooden chairs, it offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for conversation or rest. The circular arrangement of the chairs encourages social interaction, symbolizing openness and community. This space demonstrates how nature and design can work together to foster comfort, balance, and connection within the campus environment.
